funky junk sisters vintage flea market

Friday night I spent the evening with some fabulous ladies from the local flea market junk world. The ever-fabulous Linda and Dixie of Funky Junk Sisters fame were hosting their semi-annual Funky Junk Sisters Vintage Flea Market. It is one of my favorites and if you are ever in the area when they are having one, you really do need to go. It is that good.

I thought I would share some of the images I shot that night. It is an easy show to shoot as there are so many treasures there and they are displayed in beautifully displayed booths~

I also was able to meet and spend a short time with a fellow Minnesotan - Sue Whitney. This gorgeous and incredibly tiny woman had more energy and spirit in her right pinky than many of us have in our entire bodies. It was inspiring to talk to her and absorb some of that enthusiasm! I think this woman will help to change the way we look at recycling and repurposing items and finding ways to integrate these items into our lives.

There were also a few of the Sisters on the Fly in attendance- a fabulous group of women who pull their own incredibly cool trailers to a vast array of locations, in search of adventure and exciting times with other women. And, of course, they completely inspired me - I am absolutely joining! Mabel belongs in a group like that! We will have a ball, I am sure!

Finally, I want to say hello to these three darling girls~ They had a booth called *4th Avenue* and it was (I believe) their first show. They were so cute and I had such fun shooting them in front of the old truck that the sisters had borrowed (and I am sure are still trying to figure out a way to make their own...).

There were so many fabulous vendors but unfortunately I didn't get cards from them all. For instance - this photo:

I love this photo but didn't get a card from the sassy lady who ran this booth. She was so fun - and looked marvelous in her boots and skirt!

I do want to share a few links - those that did give me their cards. If you see a photo of your booth here and want to send me your link, I will happily add it to this post!

we have a winner!

I was so excited when I heard that Shana Rae was going to donate a set of her Flora Bella actions for a give-away. You all know how much I have LOVED my new action set, and I know that anyone who has their own set will while away endless hours that probably should be spent, oh, I don't know, raising children, running a home, doing laundry, etc... etc.... etc...

The winner of EITHER the two new spring sets OR the Vintage/B&W/Color & Haze set is:

Melissa of MISS SEW AND SO

Congratulations!!! MISS Melissa, please send me your email address and I will pass it along to *she who creates such incredible actions and textures*~

If you didn't win, I really do think you would LOVE any and all of the Flora Bella sets - they truly are divine!

Thanks so much to Shana Rae for letting me host this give-away~

France jour 5 - the girls go brocanting!

I think we shall call day five "le jour de Kasey" as it seems I have a number of photos of her. And honestly, could this girl not be a supermodel? I mean, really. She is so. incredibly. comfortable. in front of the camera. This would be one area where we are NOT alike... Thus, endless darling photos of her~

Jour 5 was brocante day! We ventured about 45 minutes away to Isle sur la Sorgue - the *most charming* little town in the south of France. It was a gorgeous day and perfect for perusing fabulous old treasures.

We had such fun, found some wonderful items to bring home, and then enjoyed a fabulous lunch. The outdoor dining area was situated right on the river - beautiful blue water flowing by. We were entertained by a very animated accordion player who seemed to really enjoy his job!

After our lunch, our glass of wine, and our cafe creme, we wandered the streets taking photos and peeking into various little shops. I think we could have stayed there for days - it was that cute~

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that while I did the driving, Kasey was definitely the calm voice of reason. I admit, I will, on the *rare* occasion, get slightly stressy. Kasey - not so much. That is yet another reason that she is one of the perfect travel partners for me.

On our way back to the Mas, we stopped in St. Remy to walk around and - yes - take more photos. We headed into the first patisserie to buy a treat for ourselves - and met this darling garçon. He was so lovely and happy to pose for photos for us~ He was friendly and had the cutest smile. What is it about those french men...?

St. Remy is an absolutely fabulously sweet little village. It has gorgeous buildings with beautiful doors and windows. It has cute shops, delicious patisseries, and even the people are darling. If we hadn't already fallen in love with the south of France, we did that day~

I also found my next home - right in the very center of St. Remy. They were even kind enough to have my car parked and waiting for me. Aannd... it matches the shutters. I know, perfect. I would look fabulous driving that car!

new prints in the shop!

I have added a couple of new prints to the shop. I would post them here, but they are in my header, and in the post below. And honestly, how many times can you look at the same photos!

Back tomorrow with jour 5 in the south of France!

bisous~
