So, I am home. After feeling so completely immersed in "my life" in the french countryside with my second family, it is almost strange to be here. Everything is familiar, and yet, not quite right. Maybe it is me who has changed. You see, spending two weeks in a place that is so different from what you know, on some levels at least - absorbing the parts that you love, wanting to bring them home with you, it changes you. It did me, anyway. I know there are things I couldn't bring home - some were just too big to fit in my suitcase (and probably wouldn't have been able to survive the extended trip with the lack of air in there either!) but some are on the inside, and will live here, with me, until I return. I am looking forward to it already~
It certainly was nice to see the boys again though! #4 had missed his mommy more than the rest I suspect. He was almost shy when he saw me - after he ripped his seatbelt off at the airport when they came to pick me up that is. Big hug, and then a lot of smiles from underneath those eyelashes. I am looking forward to my day with him - we have lots to do but he is a great little sidekick~
So now, at 3:45 am, I am downloading photos. I am going to attempt to sort through them - and there are A LOT of them. I am so excited about what I have though - I have already seen a few of them and they bring me back - to the moment that I took them. And then they leave me wishing that I could be there again, even if only for a moment...
Back soon lovies - promise!
xx
ps. as many of you know, one of my FABULOUS travel partners has already been posting about the trip - complete with photos. I would like to send you over to her with a bit of a warning, however. My sweet friend Kasey seems to remember the trip with a bit of a different "twist" than I do... I find this rather amusing, seeing as one of our cameras happens to have a set of photos, taken one evening, late, after a fair bit of wine and some french cigies, from an alley, complete with sexy french lingerie. Just sayin'...
