So, she blogged about this little slice of heaven, and I considered venturing into the city to try it for myself. But before I even had the chance to figure out where they were, I noticed that the owner of said delicious joint had posted on another friend's facebook page. "How do you know him???" I quickly messaged. She explained that he was the boyfriend of a mutual friend. What?!? How did I now know this??? Me being me, I immediately added him as my friend, he accepted, and today, my girlfriend and I had a lunch date. At Barracuda Taqueria. And let me say - you NEED to go.
Located not far from the Space Needle, it is in a fabulous spot in downtown Seattle. Parking is no problem (for lunch at least).
We first met Brian - twin brother of Nathan (the owner of said incredible establishment) and the MOST HONEST man I have ever known. Truly. Honest.
Annie had mentioned the queso. - something that I (sorry Annie) had never tried. Until today. Dear lord. Divine.
We asked Nathan what he would suggest for lunch, and he said he would put together a mix of various tacos to try. We had a great mix of meat and fish, and, uhm, okay, he brought us a tongue taco. No, of course it doesn't say "tongue taco" on the menu. But come on, in the end, it is tongue. Aannddd... seeing that I have just been traveling *in France* and eating such worldly things, I thought hey - I can do this. And I tried. And it seems that when one is in their own city, trying new, different things just doesn't seem to "go down" as easily. Thus, after one. tiny. little. bite., I was done. But I tried. And I have heard that it is very popular - with the tongue crowd I would guess... The shrimp tacos were great though!
Finally, I had to share this sign - after my time in Paris, I found this quite funny~

I love tex mex and wish I lived close to visit. Those look so yummy!! Great sign! Have a great day! ~lulu
What a fun post Mimi, if I ever go to Seattle I will head directly there, sounds positively yummy. The sign is one of the best I have ever seen, even though my heart is always in Paris I always cleaned up after my dog here in Canada. Much love XO
I have heard several people raving, really. raving, about this place. I will go, we should all go.
Hold your tongue~ o.k. there are some things that just don't feel right! This would be one of them. But what a great spot! I'm now wanting some Tex-Mex! Love the sign- Like Dorothy- I don't think we're in Paris.
I love a good Mexican restaurant! I sent this blog post to all my girlfriends in Washington. (wish I could visit it myself!)
Is in just me, or does the Northwest just seem to have the best of everything in life!? ;o)
It has now risen to the top of my "must visit within the next year" list! The shopping, the outdoors...and now the food! I am so there!
Oh, and I have switched to a new blog...come check it out I have a fabulous giveaway going on. And I am still trying to work out colors and then I am going to order the larger photo prints we talked briefly about before you left for Paris.

Yum! I haven't been there, I'll have to try it out. I'm definitely a fish taco girl. For eastide tex mex, the cactus in Kirkland is very good. As are their margaritas!
I had duck liver pate this weekend, which I wouldn't usually eat, but soooo good!
Some of my favorite food in one of my all-time favorite cities! {I WILL live near there, someday!} I am pasting this in my travel file and hope to visit one of these times when I am in SW Washington visiting my parents. Your pictures make the food look SO enticing, which I really admire, because sometimes food pictures are not that appetizing....shows your skill as a great photographer! {I sent you an e-mail about your sweet comments, yesterday and hope you got it.} xx P&H
It sounds like a very cool place. It's nice to have the connections, too!
Love the sign! ;-D

Yummy ~ I love Mexican! I made Kasey's enchiladas on Sat night for supper and they were yummy! I love getting out and trying new things close to home ~ doesn't it seem we get into a rut and go to the same places over and over??
Sounds terrific! And that sign is the BEST!
I'm starving now from those great photos. I live in a great town in Nova Scotia with some wonderful restaurants, but Tex Mex is like alien food here. I wonder if they deliver.
oh great. now i am dying for some
queso!
the paris sign was too funny.
I love mexican food but I still didn't find a nice restaurant where I live... Love the Paris sign.... I know what they mean....
is it wrong to want tacos at 6 in the morning???
~Tara
I'm a huge fan of Tex Mex and I think I need to enjoy some this evening and a huge Margarita to wash it all down with! happy Cinco De Mayo to you!
How funny to see that sign after your trip!
Hi Kim, I made a post about photography and used a couple of your photos to show why you are one of my favourites...I hope you don't mind. I linked back to you and wrote clearly they are your photos. Anyway, if you're not ok with that just email me and I will erase. I respect your work very much. I wish you could teach me to be a fantastic photographer as you are!
Have a nice day, Zaira
Another reason I want to go back to Seattle. Siiiiigh. :) I can't believe you even TRIED tongue. Yes, agreed, trying new things at home is so NOT the same as trying them abroad. Alas, I vow not to eat tongue unless I find myself in some enchanted land far off from home.
Please take me to that delicious restaurant when I am out there next!! It looks so yummy, but I think I would pass on the tongue as well!!
