finding your "look"

For some reason, the New York home of Christina Swaim and Lowe Hutson appeals to me. Maybe it is because it is so unlike my home.  Maybe it is because it is their home and not mine. Lord knows I could never live with clutter like this, and yet, in their space, it looks comfortable, and welcoming, and lived in.  I think what it says to me is that everyone needs to find their own style - their own comfortable look, and so, if you are comfortable with clutter, then clutter will look good on you.  Wow, that did not come out right at all...

Have a fabulous week my friends,
xo

He he! I liked that little tid bit you said at the end..I love the colored pettie coats haning like a rainbow...that would be fun to wake up to!! I think I am the only one around craving color when most are craving neutrals and whites! Happy Monday Kim!

I agree. I love the look of 'cozy' in anyone's home but mine !
There must be something wrong with me !

clutter does NOT look good on me! But I can see how this home is appealing. However, I'm in the extreme opposite end. I may actually need some stuff..

What great personality this home has! Can't you feel the positive energy of the home owners?? Your right, it may not be for you or me, not our cup of tea but, oh so lovely for Christina Swaim and Lowe Hutson..Glad & Celia/Junebug

I couldn't live with that kind of clutter either, but the place does seem very warm and welcoming...and fun too!

I always love everybody else's clutter but I find mine just plain unattractive.....xv

I am a clutterphobe and those pictures nearly sent me over the edge. I love that they are so comfortable with their own space and I hope that mine feels the same one day.

OMG, those multi colored crinolines are making me drool. Love them! I agree with the Junebug gals, this home has personality with a capital P. Thanks for sharing!

I love homes that really reflect the people who live there... clutter does look great when it has a style to it like the pictures reflect. I like a little less clutter but I have a eclectic style to begin with.

I'm not a clutter person but I'm not sterile either...I'm a mix between. When I have lots of clutter, it isn't organized clutter!

The Duchess of Tea has bestowed a title upon you. Her Grace requests the honour of your presence at the knighting ceremony to be held at Rose Tea Cottage.

I will be honoured if you accept the award I am presenting to you by copy and pasting it on your blog.

I think you need to be highly organized in order for clutter to look good. Impossible to obtain with kids:) Have a great day!

I love the hanging petticoats. But I agree with you about the clutter. I would feel a little chaotic in a space with so much going on. It definitely looks lived in and homey.
