This past week #3 and I were fortunate enough to be invited to spend the afternoon with our dear friend Melaine of My Sweet Savannah fame and her family on the lake they live on. After the intense heat we have been suffering through, it was quite a treat to spend time floating on their beautiful and very quiet lake, with its private beach. Heavenly~

That looks so refreshing. What a treat for kids, going to the lake... all that wonderful mud squishing between your toes. And a private beach... sweet :-) I wonder if you wore a pretty vintage bathing suit? Pleasant weekend, friend.
What a lovely day and a lovely setting....there's nothing more refreshing than a dip in the lake...and by the sounds of the weather you've been having, you really needed it.See (?) you when I get back from IItaly. XXXX

Some of my favorite childhood memories were spent swimming in the lake...and oh how I slept so soundly after those days of blissful fun in the sun!
Looks wonderful-almost like the lake right across the road from us! Bet you and #3 had a blast!
Beautiful host too.
looks like a beautiful day at the lake. And warm too - it's a little chilly in Australia right now!
Just bliss!! Privacy, a lake, a child with a noodle...a child who knows how to use it!! :) Refreshing!
Well I have the aussie chills right now also.. but it's not too cold. But come our summer I am sure I will be wishing for something like this also. Looks like you had a glorious day and just what was needed during your heatwave! Keep Cool. Julie
I thought that was a picture postcard, the first shot. How totally dreamy.

What a sweet invitation. I'm sure both you and your son will remember days like these fondly.
How fun! I would love to live on a lake in the summer. My aunt and uncle had a place on the lake and I remember spending time there in the summer. I have such great memories from being there!
That first shot is a masterpiece my little buddy!! Beautiful moments you create!
