love

Love isn't an act.  it's a whole life.
It's staying with her now because
she needs you: it's knowing you
and she will still care about each other when
sex and daydreams.  fights and futures-
when all that's on the shelf and done with.
Love-why.  I'll tell you what love is:
it's you at seventy-five and her at seventy-one.
each of you listening for the other's
step in the next room. each afraid that a
sudden silence.  a sudden cry
could mean a lifetime's talk is over.
- Brian Moore

~this is what I dream of when I dream of the love I share with my handsome husband.

It can happen in the late fifties too, I find myself listening for the foot steps in the morning, when perhaps my husband has slept in a bit. It is indeed a love for a life time.

Such beautiful sentiments expressed so eloquently with pen and paper.

I also enjoyed reading your post about the return of cooler weather. A good friend in Dallas is anticipating his business trip to Seattle next week and experiencing such much needed relief from the 100+ degree temps of Texas. Let's just hope he doesn't bring the return of hotter temps back to the Pacific Northwest!

BTW...I am going to be turning the "Big Four-O" in a few weeks. I've had mixed emotions about this, but my classmates from the class of '87 assure me it's not that bad! LOL

Thanks for dropping by and leaving your kind comments,
Valerie

This quote is so impactful. It makes me so thankful that I can read a reminder like that of what Love is, and know that I have him in my life to experience it with. Makes me want to go give him a hug right now in thanks for picking me to love :)
