I could use a give-away right about now...

Hello friends,

Sunday evening has somehow arrived already and I can't be sure but I think that the weekend only lasted about ten hours. It certainly felt like it. Maybe it was that yesterday was gorgeous here and seeing as we average about one *gorgeous* day for every 18 ugly ones, all of that joy made time fly.

Today was anything but gorgeous - on the weather front anyway. I was up at sunrise as today was the Seattle Race for the Cure - something that I was doing with some of my dearest friends. I was really looking forward to it because not only do I love these girls (and one very fabulous husband) but it was a short race and I knew it would be fun. Even with the POURING rain, the gray skies, and the cool temperatures, I was looking forward to it.

We met downtown, ready to go sign in and get our numbers, and had some time to talk on the way. I haven't had a lot of time to see these friends lately - life gets busy, kids, work, travel. But summer is coming and I know that time will slow down a bit, we will get together spontaneously more often over bbqs and bonfires, and I am so looking forward to that. After today, I am looking forward to it more than anything. You see, sometimes things come up that you aren't expecting - that you absolutely aren't ready for. You think life is rolling along and you learn that it isn't rolling quite as smoothly as you had thought. And it makes you appreciate your friends, and wish that you stopped more often to just *be* with them. Maybe though, it is what you need to make those changes. To really prioritize and possibly eliminate some of the excess odds and ends and put what really matters first. So maybe, when that rock comes out of left field and hits you square in the temple, the one that stunned you for a short while, it was really meant to help you - to help you see something that was right in front of you the entire time.

And with that, I need a pick-me-up. So, I am going to give away three of my 5x7 prints (the ones in this post) and a set of three cupcake cards~ You need only be a follower and leave a comment. If you want to tweet/post/facebook/email all of your friends - that would be fabulous. However, just being you - that is what I am needing right about now. I will draw a name Wednesday afternoon~

Thanks for always being present and sending such kindness my way. I truly appreciate each and every one of you~

xx

Miss 'Mimi"
I am sorry that the weather didn't cooperate for your race today....but nonetheless...good for you for getting out and getting after it!
I am in dire need of the sunshine as you are...but I think these adorable prints would help brighten my 'drab, gray days,' along with the sound of laughter from my girls!
Sincerely,
Tinell

I'm hoping our dreary rain goes away for you and our skies are filled with sunshine! You sound like you could use a little sun and if you want to have some fun, hit me up for coffee, I'm just across the water from you and I'm good at uplifting spirits (not just drinking uplifting spirits - HA HA!!!)
Have a wonderful evening and know that tomorrow will be a better day.

Hi Kim - I am right there with you - not much time for anything of substance. I caught up with old friends this weekend and it was one of the most lovely, relaxing things to be amongst those who knew me best!

So _ I am not sure you can ship your giveaway all the way over here - but hey your post made me want to comment anyway. I chat to Simone and she mentions you alot...so I feel like you are a friend of a friend :-)

Have a good day,

Oh the Pacific Northwest - GEEZ!!
you're right, it should be wonderful and warm, but it's dreary wet and depressing. Saturday was so beautiful, then Sunday back to rain. It's like we were being teased. Seems to be rocks flying every which way - hope the sting lessens for you. I'm trying to get a few dents out of my own head. xx

What a wonderful, wonderful post!
Taking time to appreciate WHO and what matters!

I got so lucky this weekend; doing that. Yep,,,,I went to Farm Chicks. Yep, I had a blast shopping/seeing friends/bloggers/ booths. But the BEST PART? Honestly?

Was spending 3+ days with my wonderful Sister in Law. She's been in my life since I was 8. My brother is 10 years my senior. I've lost my Mom and Dad and my family is VERY SMALL,,so she means the world to me and this weekend,,,,we got to re-connect. Just SHE and I,,,,at Farm Chicks and sleeping together and laughing and sharing........It was the BEST of times!!

The "Stuff", the event, seeing other friends/customer was wonderful,,,but getting close again,,THAT was priceless!!!

Thanks for your insight and sharing!
Hugs,
Shell

great post. I totally agree. sometimes our challenges really can help us; giving us opportunity to get our priorities in better order and so often it is the things right in front of us that are so important. It is so easy to get distracted by all the other stuff. Beautiful photos.

Enjoy your time with friends!
