~I absolutely love this bedroom - everything from the floors to the bed to the wall color to the chair beside the bed!
~I find the orange accents interesting in this room
While I have a very neutral/linen/white canvas in our home, I do like the occasional bit of color injected here and there. With autumn here, and winter approaching, I often add a bit more blue, or red, or brown as accents to warm up the house a bit.
When it comes to paint, the only color I have here aside from my French Canvas on most of our walls is the two blues (which we mixed to our liking) in the kitchen and main floor bath. I like blue - it is cool, and calm, and peaceful to me.
I loved these photos, courtesy of Martha Stewart, for the feeling of calmness I get when I look at them. Wouldn't you agree?
Happy Sunday,
xx

That first photo is a dream!! I also like the one with the blue and coral colors :) Oh all the things I'd do if I owned a home!! :)
Beautiful photos! I with you on my love of pale blues.
Hope you're having a good weekend!
Oh! I just yesterday painted my kitchen a pale Celtic gray/greenish-blue - the rest of my house all whites & pale taupes with pale blues & greens here & there. A bit of color in my kitchen - a little cheerier now, brighter, still peaceful. LOVED these images.

Beautiful colours...I love the green/grey coloured walls. I hope you are enjoying the weekend, xv.
I agree! The first photo is beautiful & looks like possibly the same blue I used in a bedroom makeover I just did in my daughter's room. Love it! Beautiful blog! I love the post of your date w/ your son....they grow up too fast!

Absolutely LOVE the Kitchen Photo!!!
Uh-oh, after seeing that first photo I may have to change my mind on our Master bedroom makeover. Just beautiful! Also in love with the kitchen and that sink.
The settee is divine!
Love thoses shades of blue. I just had a room painted for a client. I was looking for a gray, green, blue very, very soft. It came out wonderful. I used Benjamin Moore Aura AF-490 TRANQUILITY. I am a huge fan of your blog. Great inspiration. Lori
Wow - awesome pictures!! Love that kitchen...fabulous!
you have selected the color or heaven to showcase in these photos. it is the color i dream in and want to live in forever. coolish bluish, slightly grayish, seaish green/bluish. sigh.

I now see Blue in a different light, gorgeous pics!! Tootles, Janna
That first shade of blue looks very much like the paint in my garden room, where I now type. I find it a very tranquil color. I don't know what the trend was with blue and brown. I much rather like blue and orange. Those two better compliment one another.

Did you know that blue and orange are on opposite sides of the color wheel? That's why they are so great together. I love that combination too. So many great pale blue/grey/green colours. Lovely photos Kim.
Ohhh...that first bedroom! I have two of those beds in my home---my sons sleep in them. I love the blue-green-gray on the walls. It reminds me of the color in my bedroom in my last house, Silver Sage by Restoration Hardware or Gray Wisp by Benjamin Moore (they are the same shade). I'm thinking of painting my bedroom walls that color again. Love the white linens, too.
I am dying over that wall color in the first photo. I love it. Beautiful images!
I absolutely love the turquoie and orange together. It's a wonderful combination.
