I have been tagged by the lovely and gracious Simone of The Bottom of the Ironing Basket to write about six uninteresting things that make me happy~ As uninteresting is in the eye of the beholder...
1. The sound of birds first thing in the morning will always start my day out in good spirits. If you add a bit of sunshine to the mix, the morning is perfect!
2. Laying on the hammock and watching our chickens play in the yard. I love how funny they are and when they come running, it is like something straight out of a cartoon! I never imagined that chickens could be amusing~
3. A tidy house. Definitely having a tidy house makes me happy - probably happier than it should. I love entertaining because it gives me the impetus that I need to make everything look lovely. Oh, the joy of lovely~
4. Grocery shopping. I like planning meals and the idea of feeding my boys. It gives me some sort of satisfaction to know that I am helping them grow into young men and that they will remember eating well when they were children.
5. Weeding. I am not sure if I like the idea of all of that quiet time while I pull those weeds or the results of my work and how tidy (oh look - the tidy word again!) the gardens look.
6. Finding out that you can block harassing, solicitor calls! Boring? Yes, but certainly satisfying as we have been receiving at least two calls a week from the same person (a recording of course) for weeks now. (and yes, I just got off the phone with our telephone service provider whom I now love as they have offered me a solution!
Now, I am not going to tag anyone as I know summer is a busy time, and rather than just tag six people, I would love to hear what everyone's list of six things are!

Yay, I'm first! One of my favorite uninteresting things is clean, wet hair, right out of the shower, with all of the tangles brushed out. Especially in the summer.
Love your list. This is a great thing to ponder because it's the simple things in life that are so wonderful! I am going to see if I can come up with a list of 6 things and post about it.
Hammocks are never uninteresting & watching your children play...thats what life is all about. Gossip celebrity shows...thats boring!!!! I'll be over to swing away & see the children play anyday.
I love weeding too..my neighbors always thought I was weird for that.
Mine was the little padding on the back of Haileys then chubby toddler hand. We were always holding hands (still do but now almost 8 I know its dwindling)& a little squeeze to her " squishiness" (her word for it..she loved it too) was our secret code for "luv u". The physical squishiness is gone but the love is still soft & real.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and your sweet comments! I love your "uninteresting list" I agree with all of them except grocery shopping! I wish we had chickens in our yard. My youngest hatched 6 in class this spring. I was so sad to see them go to the farm. :) KIM
I love handwritten letters. I tend to save them and can't bear to throw them away. Just a quick note in my mailbox can brighten my entire day!
I love a new box of crayons or colored pencils. The beautiful colors all lined up and perfect make me smile.
And, eating dinner outside on our deck makes me happy too.
The smell of freshly baked pumpkin bread filling the house can't be beat either!
Silly thoughts...just writing them down made me happy too!
i'm right there with you on 1,3 and 6.
i wish i was on no. 4. :)
if find these rather intersting, myself! thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad you found my blog and said hello! I've enjoyed browsing around yours here. I do think we could become fast friends! Love your six uninteresting things...I would pick all of them, too! I only wish I had some chickens running around my yard! Let's keep in touch!
Stopping by to wish you a lovely weekend :)
Liked your list!
Hugs,
Vibeke.
I love this post and I love all the things that make you happy.

Hi - found your blog after I got tagged to name "Six Uninteresting Things I love." I LOVED what you wrote about grocery shopping. One of my joys in life is feeding my family, and watching them eat well. It's such a good feeling!
