It's a sickness, really...

I think needy animals are attracted to me - I really do.  I certainly didn't go out this morning in search of a kitten - of that I assure you!  Although I like cats, they really aren't my thing. Well, cats are my thing, but the scratched furniture, litter boxes, and cat hair are not.  So when I innocently went into the feed store this morning to inquire about old water troughs that people no longer need for their horses (so that I can use them for my gardens...) kittens were the last thing on my mind.  Until this one meowed at me.  Repeatedly.  Loudly.  Imploringly.  She was with her two siblings, who were a much darker charcoal.  They were happily enjoying their cat naps, but not this one.  Oh  no.  She was calling to me - really she was!  And Barry (who owns the feed store) was only too happy to let me hold one of those wild kittens that had been dropped off a few days earlier.  He knows me too well...  He knew that kitten had found a home, even before I did.  The shocker was the "why not" that my husband gave when I phoned, timidly, to ask what he thought of another ferrel kitten.  Possibly a young enough ferrel kitten that we could actually tame it into loving us.  Enough to let us actually hold it.  That would certainly be a treat.

So the boys are in love already, as are we.  She is a sweet little thing, and her "ferrel-ness" has only come out a couple of times - as seen in the puncture wounds on my fingers...

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend lovelies~

She is just precious and I love her name.

That little thing would have been too difficult to pass by!

I love cats, but I'm seriously allergic! Even allergy pills don't really help!

Aaw! Your little kitty looks so cute! I just want to cry!

Congratulations on discovering Wren! I'm looking this very moment at our 20-pound Scout (she comes from a family of very BIG cats) and our 11-pound Dill, and remembering when they were this tiny and sweet--what pure joy.

It always amazes me when animals find their way "home". Wren knew you were the one for her and was letting you know it. I love it!! Will she be an indoor or outdoor cat? Wren is beautiful! AND the double bonus she is a great little model to stand in for some of your photo shoots. Enjoy!

Oh my dear Kim. You remind me of ME. Animals seem to know I am a sucker for a hard luck story. Birds ( a cockatiel) literally flew into my garage exhausted and hungry. Enoy your latest addition and in the future have your alfalfa and troughs delivered!
