The most amazing thing about the internet is that you have the opportunity to meet new "friends" that you wouldn't have met, perhaps because you live in different states, or on different continents.
I have a group of friends that I have *known* for over ten years and honestly, they are some of the dearest friends - incredibly supportive, honest, loyal, and there when you really need them. We are spread out over Canada, the US, and in London. I live in an era when I am able to cherish friends, some of whom I have never actually met (although many of whom I have spoken with on the telephone), and some of whom I have. We live diverse lives, and yet I know that I can phone or email them for anything, and they would be there to celebrate with me, or be a shoulder should I need it. I feel incredibly lucky to know that this weekend I will be meeting yet another of those incredible ladies as she is coming to Seattle for a visit and spending an afternoon with me!
Last evening, I found a flickr site that I loved~ It could have been because this lovely - now "flickr friend"- Ana lives in London (one of my very favorite places ever!). It could be because she has that London flat that I would give my eye tooth for (do I really need those eye teeth anyway?). It might be that her daughter, little Dora, is so sweet. But most likely, the clincher, for me, was the "tagged" post she did, where I discovered how incredibly funny she is. Funny does it for me every time~
One thing that I love about her photos is how incredibly coordinated they are. Case in point:
Okay, did she arrange those rocks to match little Dora's outfit? I love that photo~
I love the clean, whiteness of the flat, and how did she know to throw in one of my favorite shades of blue? It was like she was expecting me...
But when I saw this photo, I really knew that she did know I was coming. Meringues - my very very favorite (ask anyone in my french class...)!
So Ana, it is so very lovely to meet you. Your photos inspire me (mostly to get rid of a lot of clutter that we *really* don't need) and I look forward to getting to know you better~
And to all the lovely ladies I have already met here, thank you so much for coming, for taking time out of your day to spend a bit of time with me. You will never know how much I look forward to your comments and your visits~
Have a lovely Wednesday my friends!

What a beautiful tribute to your friends old and new. All white with touches of soft blue is my new favorite thing. This was a treat!

One thing about the internet and blogging is the ability to make those connections you talk about...enjoy your visit with your friend and thank you for sharing Ana's photos...they're lovely!
