Good morning~

And what better way to start your morning than a good breakfast.  Eggs perhaps?  Aren't they lovely?  When the girls started laying five years ago, it was difficult for me to eat them.  I am not sure if it was because they were to pretty to break or that I felt like each day when we collected them, we were stealing their babies.  Regardless, now, we love our eggs!  There is nothing like providing your family with food that was produced on your own property~

I found this fabulous Potager this morning which I am so envious of.  Anne Marie has lovely gardens, and what seems like the perfect property to produce all sorts of produce as well as eggs for her family.

On my beside table sits the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle  As soon as I finish Three Cups of Tea  I will start reading it.  I am really looking forward to picking up any ideas for eating locally, growing as much as we possibly can, planning ahead for seasons where we can't grow much, and maybe even giving up a bit in order to support our local growers.  It should be an interesting book and I will let you know what I think once I am finished.  I will tell you I am really enjoying Three Cups of Tea as it is inspirational (do you detect a theme in my reading material...?) and really makes one see how you don't have to have so much "stuff" and still can be very happy.  It also has given me an appreciation for things that our family takes for granted.

Thank-you for stopping by my blog. And the nice compliments. I just found yours yesterday and felt right at home immediately. My father raises his own chickens and their eggs are unbelieveable. The color of the yolk, in itself, is so much brighter than store bought eggs. On a side note, I'm loving the music of 'Rupa and the April Fishes.' Thanks for sharing them. I love finding new music through blogs. Hope all's well and I'll certainly be back. (p.s. I live in Southern IA along the Mississippi River.)

What beautiful shots - would be so perfect framed and hanging in a kitchen somewhere - so peaceful! Thank you for sharing your gift! (and you're so lucky to have your own egg producers!!)

Over easy! We always buy at our local farmer's market-all spring, summer and fall. Then we travel to local farms for our eggs- they are so much better than store bought- I think I'll go scramble up a few!

Ooh! Great! Some books recommendations! My Mum is reading Animal Vegetable Mineral and it's a case of 'sure you can borrow it... but you might like to buy your own...!' Ithink she's right, I know I'll want to keep it. Ant I'm off in a min to check out the other one thanks!
